This is what happens when Rudolph drinks too much egg nog.
My ugly sweater “tacky-fully” expresses exactly who I am. Sometimes a bit girly, so I threw on some bows, sometimes I can be flashy, hence the gold beads, and sometimes, I’m just a kid at heart, hence the bears!!! Hope you like it!!
I wanted my sweater to be bright & whimsical. After rummaging through my craft supplies, I found some cheerful fabric, some old beading, some left over stuffing & two different styles of ribbon. Jackpot! I didn’t even damage my sweater!
MORE THAN MEETS THE SWEATER
Growing up in the 1980s has always been a huge inspiration in my life. It is only fitting that I would transform my sweater into something the Primes can be proud of.
My sweater is a depiction of “Bumble” the Abominable Snowman from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer TV Special from 1964; a classic holiday special seen by all.
I was inspired by my childhood memories for “Light Bright” when I designed my sweater. I can honestly say that I am the “Brightest” member of our team!
My favourite part of the holidays is decorating the Christmas tree. Then I thought: “wouldn’t it be nice to BE a Christmas tree?” So my sweater is the “The Christini Tree!” with tacky holiday ornaments, tiny Santa Claus dolls and snowmen mini-lights.
The idea behind my sweater originates from one of my favourite holiday comedy films, Home Alone. I incorporated an app called Morph DigitalDudz. An iPhone tucked into a built-in pocket displays eyes that look side to side and up and down. (The picture might not do this animation justice!)
